About the Group

Sanctuary of the Soul: Nurturing Mental Health with Biblical Wisdom is a psychoeducational group that blends psychological insights with timeless wisdom from the Bible to foster holistic well-being. This unique group therapy experience is designed to help participants embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, guided by principles deeply rooted in biblical teachings.

What to Expect

In this group, participants will:

• Engage in Group Discussions: Participate in meaningful conversations about  mental health, guided by biblical principles.
• Participate in Interactive Exercises: Take part in activities designed to  cultivate resilience and manage stress.
• Reflect Through Guided Sessions: Reflect on your journey and experiences  through the lens of scripture.

Themes and Topics

Each session explores a different theme, drawing on relevant passages from scripture to provide practical coping strategies. Topics include:

• Week 1: Breaking Stigmas on Mental Health - September 19, 2024
• Week 2: Biblical view of Depression - September 26, 2024
• Week 3: Biblical view of Anxiety - October 3, 2024
• Week 4: Addressing Trauma - October 10, 2024
• Week 5: Coping with Grief - October 17, 2024

Goals:

• Educate and Empower: Nurture a comprehensive understanding of various mental health conditions through a combination of psychological insights and biblical teachings.
• Reduce Stigma: Participate in discussions aimed at breaking down the stigmas often associated with mental illness within the Christian community.
• Provide Practical Support: Discover practical strategies for managing mental health challenges for the topics discussed, with a focus on faith-based approaches.
• Offer Hope and Encouragement: Experience a supportive environment that fosters hope and encouragement through shared faith and biblical wisdom.

• Who: Must be a TX resident and aged 21+ to register
